From design to carton
Seven stages, one short chain.
Decoration and firing are the stages that decide whether a pattern looks like ours or like everyone else's. Both are handled inside the same production base as the body.
Ceramic forming
Each shape is produced from tooling built for that piece. This is where the consistency of a range is decided.
Glazing
Glaze is applied and finished by hand where the design calls for it, which is most of our decorative pieces.
Decoration
Patterns are applied to the body and fired, so the decoration is part of the finished piece rather than a surface print.
Firing
Bodies and decoration are fired on a schedule set for that body and glaze. Both are checked against the approved sample.
Sample development
Samples are produced for approval before bulk production. Decisions are made on physical pieces, never on a render.
Quality control
Pieces are inspected before packing, against the specification agreed at sampling. What is checked, and what is not, is set out for you at that stage.
Packaging
Retail, gift and export packing, developed with the order so the presentation and the carton are planned together.

Factory statistics are only worth anything if they are accurate and current. So we do not publish them here.
